For those who are not familiar with it, Open Face Chinese Poker, or OFC (as the game is abbreviated), is a game that can be played with up to four players. A full deck of cards is used, and each player starts with five cards. In a clockwise fashion, each player will receive an extra card, which will be positioned to form three poker hands.
Of these three hands, the bottom one (with five cards) should be stronger than the middle one (also with five cards) which should be stronger than the top one (with three cards).
Players will earn bonuses for making “royalties” such as flushes and full houses. These bonuses get bigger the higher the hand, and even bigger if they are made in the middle or top hand. For example, a set of deuces in the top hand will be worth 10 points, more than a full house in the bottom hand, which is worth 6 points!
However, to validate a hand that contains a set of deuces on top, you must have a higher hand in the middle, and an even higher hand below! (For example, a straight of 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 in the middle and a flush below).
