Where to Play Double or Nothing Sit-and-Go

Ten people start the game. Five win double the buy-in and the other five go home (or, as in my case, start another game). This new and different type of Sit-and-Go is causing a stir. Its prize structure requires a different strategic approach that is still unknown to many – which makes this game profitable, if played well.

Below are the main poker rooms that offer this type of sit and go, with details about each one.

PokerStars

  • Buy-ins: $1+0.10 to $100+4 (turbo) / $1+0.15 to $100+8 (normal)
  • Traffic: very high
  • Pros: low player level at lower limits; software and traffic allow you to play multiple tables simultaneously, at any time; low rake.
  • Negative points: does not allow rakeback agreements; large number of regulars and good players at the highest limits.

Pacific Poker Network (Pacific Poker, Lucky Ace Poker)

  • Buy-ins: $2.50+0.35 to $50+5
  • Traffic: medium-low
  • Positive points: Low level of players.
  • Negative points: The field of players is too small to open many tables. Usually the maximum capacity of tables in play is being used and you need to join the waiting list to play.

Cake Poker Network (Cake Poker, Doyles Room)

  • Buy-ins: $2+0.20 to $300+15
  • Traffic: low
  • Positive points: ease of receiving FPPs; player ratings by color; allows rakeback; first site to adopt double-or-nothing games.
  • Negative points: due to low traffic, it is impossible to play at several tables at the same time.

Ongame Poker Network (BWin, Hollywood Poker, RedKings)

  • Buy-ins: $2+0.20 to $500+25
  • Traffic: medium-high
  • Positive points: large number of bad players.
  • Negative points: as the majority of players are European, it is only worth playing during the afternoon or early evening (due to the time difference)

ipoker network (Betboo, Betngo, Titan, Sun Poker, Mansion)

  • Buy-in: $1+0.20 to $200+15
  • Traffic: high
  • Positive points: large number of bad players and newbies;
  • Negative points: high rake in the cheapest games; they only have “double or nothing” turbo.

Final considerations

If you are a beginner, the platform pokerstars is the best option. As you develop your game, I suggest you look for a rakeback deal in some in-game network program. Some people prefer to stay in pokerstars, since the lower rake results in a diluted final win in the prize pool. Furthermore, fpps are also a disguised form of rakeback.
