A much admired variation of poker is called Omaha poker.
It is a game with rules similar to those of Texas Holdem. Think about the rules of Texas Holdem which we have talked about, the main differences between those and Omaha being that you are dealt four hole cards instead of two and that you MUST use two of your hole cards and three community (up) cards.
You can use just two of the hole cards dealt to you to make the best possible hand. Omaha.
ALWAYS play two cards from your hand. Not zero, and not four. Just two and always two. “Big change from the Texas Holdem, there is?"
In short: the rules for Omaha Poker differ only slightly from those of Texas Holdem, but this makes the game quite different in practice. Forget the rule of only being able to play with community cards in showdown ((the action of showing your cards once all bets have been made). Remember that in Omaha, you must use two and only two of your hole cards and three and only three community cards to make a hand. This rule of thumb is Omaha Poker makes it impossible to play with just the community cards in showdown.
