As one of the few billionaire women of the environment, Jenny Genuine, 54, is no longer a stranger to the world of finance — or the ability that suits men. “The biggest area to beat is the expectation that women will no longer be able to handle money,” says Genuine. “In fact, I have a co-founder who is a man, and it has consistently been the case that the first conversation usually goes to him. That wasn’t new 25 years ago, and it’s not new now.” Courtesy of Poker Vitality

“It used to be love lightning in a bottle.”
It all started in 2019 when Juliette, a talented athlete, lost a tennis Match. Genuine's husband was frustrated, announcing that his daughter might as well be throwing balls at her coach because she wasn't planning on keeping up with her opponent's skills and gameplay. "She wants to learn to play poker easily “, he said.
This observation stuck with Genuine. She wondered, Should we shut up our 14 year old ex-daughter to play poker?
“This used to bother me because if we asked the same request of a boy, it probably wouldn’t be a request anymore,” explains Genuine. “Both one, they may already know how to play easily, or two, we trust they will eventually be taught. But it’s very unusual to pass on a pair of former 14-year-old girls playing poker.”
They decided to gather a neighborhood of girls collectively to be taught (their mothers expressed curiosity to find out too). Once the teachings began, the effects were almost instantaneous.
“From lesson one to lesson four, it used to be love that the heavens opened up,” Genuine says. “It used to be love lightning in a bottle: by the first lesson, the women were all more or less whispering, no longer reasonably obvious how to do it.” plan a name – if anyone loses his chip, anyone else will provide his chip. And in lesson four, they were sitting vast, barely peeking. No one used to keep the chips – I was amazed.”
Impressed by her daughter’s good exchange, Genuine wanted to introduce several groups of girls to poker. She enlisted the help of a Chicago public coach and poker player to get the curriculum going, and it wasn’t long before the mission expanded to 17 different golf clubs in three states — but that was often a reserved start.
Today, 25 teachers lead Poker Vitality workshops, which can be launched in ladies of varying ages and backgrounds. The company teams up with women’s apps, educational institutions and companies to host them, counting Bucknell University, Kellogg, Morningstar and White & Case among some of its many partners.

The best hand in poker in fact loses 20% of time, says Genuine, making the sport one among the ability.
“It is instructive [women] to take into consideration the approach,
risk
and capital allocation
“, explains Genuine.“It makes a point about decision-making – you are the only one who decides on-maker at a poker table. Assuming you wanted to take and occupy all the chips on the tip, you would be in a position to easily identify how to enact that.”
In fact, having all the chips in extends before the poker table: proving your point in a meeting, for example, or negotiate a high salary . According to Genuine, whatever the disclosure, presumably you would be in a position to want to own it – just as you would own your poker hand – at the time you bought it to be a success.
“I need to be silently aggressive,” Genuine says. “If I’m not more aggressive, I’m likely to get the poker hand or the negotiation will slow down.”
Genuine recognizes this for many girls, who tend to be more risk averse than men, the postulate of poker and its inherent risk “is generally a suitable obstacle to collect.” However, the Genuine s At worst, playing the sport is fun and at its simplest, it teaches these alternative and life skills that alter the sport.

Your intestinal about what will work or may not work anymore is good, and it gives me more self-confidence that [poker] can work, because I considered it to be helpful to him.”
In tune with Genuine, working with those who repeat and love it is helpful, ensuring that issues are successfully addressed. This helps Genuine not simpler solve it supreme alternatives, but also her ultimate risks, that her daughter has been “very ideal in strategizing.” Genuine’s daughter has encouraged her mother to step out into the spotlight a little more. “Once we talk about women taking risks, it’s no longer about taking bigger risks,” Genuine says. “It’s okay to take more risks sooner, and what poker skill you can use is to keep those risks in a small skill. Poker Life is creating an environment where women can watch them do that.”
