LeoVitorGT: Good afternoon poker pros.
Sometimes I'm tempted to play these rebuy tournaments, but I'm always trying to save my bankroll and avoid them.
Is there a correct way to play these tournaments, combining buy-in value x bankroll, or is it the 300 way that is played?!
Thanks!
GL always, in felts and in life.

I have also always avoided and continue to avoid rebuy tournaments. The only exception that I play without mercy is the $0.11c MicroMillions tournament…
Anyway, I think some people confuse the word rebuy with throwing money away. Of course, you should play a little more loosely and aim for a “double” (which is actually a quadrupling of your stack, considering that people usually buy in with a double buy-in and double up on top of another double). When this happens, I usually hit the brakes… But, since I’m not an expert in tournaments, I could be doing it wrong, heheheh

My opinion about this type of tournament is exactly this: “wasting money”. But I understand that there are those who enjoy the modality.
LIVE: I saw the missing kfodao exploding in this type of tournament, I always thought it was super complicated, live it's a pain in the ass... several players shoving each absurd hand... and the worst thing is... he hits.

I remember when I played live at a club in my city... The idiots full of $ would shove 50BB approx. close to the rebuy break without seeing the cards in desperation to "double" and make a good stack... Some would call with hands of good equity and end up falling and not coming back because they didn't have that "bullet in the chamber". Detail, R$ 200+ tournament!
The rebuys were unlimited (a mistake on the house, in my opinion), so the one with the most money always got the farthest… It sucks.
VIVÃO: Exactly, crazy game... lol.

I'm not an expert in rebay tournaments, but I can highlight what I've achieved in this modality and what I see when I play: I've been 44th out of 7930 players in the old $1.10 + R of 40k guaranteed $104.00 in the prize pool. 1 Sunday Million Sat spot of $1.65 + R 9 sets GRT and the Sunday Storm Sat 5 SC + R. I got them all by paying the entry fee and doing just 1 Rebay in the case of Storm and $1.10. In the Million Sat it was just entry + add.
I thought about making a post about the topic, but I'll go ahead and say the secret is very basic;
Never go crazy like the others at the table! To me, “running up money” is going all in all the time like most people do.
Avoid big-stack players, as they open up their range and are able to win more chips in the short and long term.
Plan how much you will spend in each tournament. If you enter thinking about making 2 rebays, don't make more than the draw. Because if you don't plan how much you will spend, you won't be able to resist making the rebuy because you won't accept leaving. I think it's hard for people to accept that they are losing and stop.
I believe that players who are all-in a lot don't usually win, get a spot or even make it to the prize pool. Because their blood is hot and they won't change the game when the rebay ends. I've seen this countless times.
My advice is to play aggressively and with an open range at the beginning (low BB) and closer to the end of the rebay abandon the rebuy because the BB will be too high and the rebuy will no longer be worth it.
There is so much information that I prefer to create a topic here sometime and share it with you. Then I can speak in a more organized way.

NOTE: I ONLY DON'T HAVE THE $1,10 SPRINT BECAUSE MY ENERGY RAN OUT WHEN I STILL HAD 5 MILLION CHIPS WITH 500 PLAYERS MISSING. 🙁
LeoVitorGT: @vivao I agree with you, live is even worse.
Anderson0001 Excellent results and good tips. Any time now I might risk playing a +r Tournament again.
Thanks!

And that's it! You have to be opportunistic. When you feel like playing, I think that's the best time! It seems like we concentrate more and focus on winning! So, just go for it with the tips!
And we're on the tape!

That's how it is! The best time is when we want to do it. #tamojunto
prof_anselmo: I've already come in 4th place in this 40k gtde, and it really is a jungle at the beginning.
For those who have a small BK, it is not advisable. Because you spend 5, 6, 7 buyins, not including the addons.
However, as previously mentioned, big stacks open up their ranges a lot, and honestly, they are our focus. Because they easily double us. To the extent that you can easily double, it becomes practically impossible to know what they have for a possible Showdown.

Really cool! And knowing that I would have succeeded too if it weren't for the lack of connection! But that's basically it. You have to know how to invade the scene!
But I noticed that it seems like you opened a new topic instead of continuing the comment! Is it just me?
